The Digital Hub Leipzig is planning to move into new premises at the Baumwollspinnerei in Leipzig. This offers the opportunity to set up completely new and sustainable energy concepts. CENERO Energy GmbH supports the start-up accelerator in realising its own objectives in the new location.

"The three core topics of the Leipzig Digital Hub are; environmentally friendly generation and use of energy, smart city concepts in a network and intelligent city and eHealth in connection with mobile data processing in the treatment or observation of patients. It is clear that we are now also implementing these aspirations in our own building and we are relying on the expertise and ideas of CENERO to do so," Dr. Eric Weber from SpinLab - The HHL Accelerator, the sponsor of the Digital Hub, says.

CENERO's job is to see how the Digital Hub can be integrated into the Spinnerei's energy concept. In addition to the supply concept, the energy strategist has already set up an interactive consumption system, with which each tenant unit can view and influence the supply and consumption in the entire building and for their unit on a daily basis. This is done via an app that can be accessed on tablets in the respective entrance area.

Leipzig has been one of 12 Digital Hubs in Germany since 2017. As a node for players in the start-up scene, the Digital Hubs enable the exchange of ideas, personnel and capital and promote innovation.
